Chef Michael Mina makes his wine country debut with the opening of his first restaurant in the region: Wit & Wisdom at The Lodge at Sonoma. Embodying a modern American concept, Wit & Wisdom is located just minutes from some of Sonoma County’s most popular locations such as historic Sonoma Plaza and world-class wineries.
“We are thrilled to finally open the doors to Wit & Wisdom,” said Mina. “A wine country project has been a long time coming and I could not be more excited to introduce our new concept to the region for both visitors and locals alike. Our team is thrilled to take advantage of The Lodge at Sonoma’s incredible location and support the local community by sourcing the highest-quality product that’s available in their very own backyard.”
Inspired by Bay Area-based Jack London’s collection of personal writings and essays of the same name, Wit & Wisdom draws upon the bounty of the region to showcase products from local Sonoma and Napa Valley farms, purveyors and wineries. Culinary and beverage menus deliver Mina’s signature flair, featuring signature dishes such as Liberty Farms Duck Wings, and a fresh shellfish program including Pacific Oysters, Red King Crab, Spice-Poached White Shrimp and Diver Scallops. Driven by the seasons, the menu showcases Northern California’s bounty of vegetable offerings in seasonal dishes such as a hearth-blistered garden tomato pizza and an ember-roasted eggplant, zucchini and feta pizza – featuring Marshall’s Farm Honey, crispy squash blossoms and lemon thyme.
